Yorkville’s most wholesome french restaurant, Chabrol features dishes from the south of France, made with fresh locally selected ingredients. Chef and part-owner Doug Penfold brings 25 years experience in the restaurant industry as well as a passion for locally supplied goods. Penfold is a celebrated chef who was part of the opening kitchen teams at teams at Canoe and Pastis, worked at Avalon and had always dreamed of owning a restaurant inspired by the foods of Southern France.
Chabrol’s little open kitchen allows for an honest and intimate experience in the 20 seater bistro. A 36 seater patio is open seasonally and is also the only time Penfold has a second hand in the kitchen. 
Fine french wines are paired and poured by Niall McCotter, manager and part-owner, who offers a lifetime of experience. From his family restaurant, where the passion was fostered, to a General Manager position at Toronto’s top rated restaurants such as Cava and Avalon, McCotter brings a sophisticated knowledge of food and wine pairings, perfect for Chabrol’s southern French cuisine.
Together Penfold and McCotter created the perfect authentic french bistro in the heart of Yorkville, on Yorkville Ave between Bay and Avenue.
