Plant-based eaters rejoice – with Planta open, now Yorkville literally has it all. The best shops, condos, design, art galleries, restaurants – and now to add to this list : the city’s best vegan restaurant! Created by Chase Hospitality Group (Colette Grand Cafe, The Chase, KasaMoto) in partnership with Chef David Lee – they worked together to fill a (huge) void in the Toronto market of upscale plant-based dining.
The goal is simple, to design a stunning space in which guests can discover and enjoy countless responsibly-made dishes – using high quality products from ethical suppliers in Ontario. Planta serves food that is made with thought, it is creative and you are sure to love everything on the menu. It’s hard not to. Our favourites and items to try would be the Watermelon Poke, any of their Pizzas, the Thai Noodle Salad, The Planta Burger, No Noodle Lasagne, 18 Carrot Dog and definitely the Truffle Fries. We say these but honestly, would recommend heading to Planta more than once and try everything on the menu.
The space is bright (during the day) with it’s open skylights, letting sunshine flow in through the ceiling and the decor is modern with accents of white, black, mint green, leaf greens, greys and rose gold. The space is made perfect with its centre-piece large plant in the middle of the restaurant.
All in all, Planta is a fantastic addition to the Yorkville lifestyle landscape, a great spot for lunch, dinner or weekend brunch – with a twist in sustainable healthy dining.
