LUXURY CONDO LIVING AT 277 DAVENPORT ROAD, YORKVILLE TORONTO

Introducing 277 Davenport – one of Yorkville’s newest condo projects, offers a truly fresh take on luxury. While the other scraper glitzy developments are reaching for the clouds, 277 Davenport is actually reaching for a more grounded intimacy for its residents. The project is a six-story, 10 unit building just west of Avenue Road, offering a different experience when it comes to condo living – rare for Toronto.

“There’s a lot of luxury real estate on the market with hotels and all the activities, the hustle and bustle, if you want that,” says Burnac Development Corp. president Ted Burnett.

“But lots of those people just don’t want to move into a 50-storey condo building where you don’t know your neighbours. The transition from the high-class home in Forest Hill, with a lawn and driveway, to a huge pill box — it’s too much to handle.”

277 Davenport, a building with strong horizontal planes punctuated by large balconies and floor-to-ceiling glass, is designed by Toronto architects Hariri Pontarini, the top-flight firm behind projects such as One Bloor, Shangri-La and The Florian.

277 Davenport’s luxe suites range from 1,819-square feet to 3,767 square feet and feature 10 foot ceilings, large balconies, floor to ceiling glass windows, custom stained straight plank hardwood and enclosed glass fireplace.

Suites range from 1.65 m to 3.3 m, the client can choose  two bedroom and two and a half bath or three bedroom and three and a half bath and one parking space. The master ensuite features a six foot soaker tub and shower with rain shower-head. Kitchens include Corian countertops, 10 foot islands, glass induction cook top, stainless steel oven and dishwasher as well as a front load washer / dryer.

In addition to the luxurious interiors, the building it’s self stands only six stories high and holds ten suites so you will know your neighbour and the elevator will come when you call it.  However cookie utter is not an option in this building, all residences have the opportunity to change the design to their heart desire.  Anything from trim, colour, finishings, hardware’s and even walls can be changed to suite the client.

Prices go from $1.65 million for lower-floor suites to $3.3 million for those on the top levels.

Burnett says 277 Davenport is modelled on the kinds of apartment buildings one might find along Park Avenue in New York — smaller high-end residences with a concierge. “It’s a way of life that’s well-tested in other major cities, and something we thought was lacking here.”
