The Couture for a Cause Yorkville Fashion Show 2026 transforms Cumberland Street into Canada's most exclusive outdoor runway on Wednesday, July 22nd. Presented by the Hairdressers for Love & Peace Foundation and MAC Show Systems, this third annual charity fashion event pays tribute to the late 1960s - the era that made Yorkville the cultural heartbeat of Canada. All proceeds support the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, with a fundraising goal of $150,000.
In the 1960s, Yorkville was Canada's creative heartbeat - musicians, artists, and free spirits filled these streets with music, movement, and meaning. This year's event reimagines that spirit through modern couture fashion, world-class hair artistry, live music, and Yorkville's finest cuisine. The result is an immersive tribute to the neighbourhood's golden era, staged in the heart of the district where it all began.
A Yorkville Street Celebration, Everyone Welcome
Cumberland Street comes alive for the entire neighbourhood on July 22nd. The fashion show is free to the public, with large screens set up along the street so everyone can take in the runway. Ticketed guests enjoy reserved front-row seating along the Bloor-Yorkville Runway, sponsored by the Bloor-Yorkville BIA, within a dedicated event area offering complimentary cocktails and a curated food and drink experience.
Following the show, the event area opens to the public, welcoming everyone to join the Cumberland Street celebration with live DJs, drinks, and the energy of a true Yorkville street party until 10:00 PM. Restaurant pop-up booths will be on-site throughout the evening, with additional partners to be announced.
The Evening
Doors open at 5:00 PM. VIP guests and runway ticket holders are welcomed with a complimentary cocktail and the sounds of Jake Koffman and his Jazz Band, honouring the spirit of late 1960s Yorkville, followed by a special performance by Stella Leonetti. As the evening builds, DJ M-Kutz, presented by PAROS, carries the energy through the fashion show and into the street party that follows.
At 6:00 PM, sixty models take to the Bloor-Yorkville Runway in an uninterrupted, immersive fashion presentation unlike anything else in the city.
Six Canadian Designers, Six Yorkville Salons
At the heart of Couture for a Cause is a belief that fashion and beauty are most powerful when a community comes together. Each of the six participating designers has been paired with a Yorkville hair salon, which opens its doors as the creative home base for the day - hosting the designer's models, overseeing all hair and styling, and bringing its own artistry to the runway.
This year's pairings feature Charles Lu with Salon Daniel, MAYER with Axe & Hatchet Grooming Club, Demascare with Taz Hair Company, Ocean Kiana with Suki's (flying in from Vancouver), Rock'N Karma with Earth Salon by Michael Crispel, and Leyla Kashani with LEONETTI+co. Together they represent the collaborative spirit that distinguishes this event from any conventional runway.
A Meaningful Purpose
What makes this gathering special is its genuine community spirit and meaningful cause. All proceeds support CAMH and mental health awareness through the Hairdressers for Love & Peace Foundation, a Canadian non-profit dedicated to using the power of the beauty industry to raise funds and awareness for mental health. The event demonstrates how Yorkville's fashion, beauty, and hospitality community unites for real impact in the heart of Toronto's most sophisticated neighbourhood.
